
Migos Rapper, Takeoff, Killed in Fatal Shooting
Migos rapper Takeoff has been killed in a shooting in Houston today, at a private party. The Houston Police Department said they would not be releasing the victim’s identity until the family has been “notified & ID verified by Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences,” however rapper’s identity has been confirmed by the Associated Press.
According to the police report, the person killed was a Black male in his 20s. The shooting took place at 2:30 a.m. at a bowling alley. Takeoff posted a photo of himself at approximately 12:45 a.m. on his Instagram story. Local Houston station FOX26 reported Quavo was in attendance. According to reports, it is unknown whether Offset was at the scene as well.
Migos is known for their multi-platinum hits such as Bad & Boujee, Stir Fry, Versace, Walk It Talk It, Hannah Montana and more. Just last month, Quavo and Takeoff debuted their joint album, “Only Built for Infinity Links.” In a recent interview with Complex, Quavo praised his nephew, Takeoff, for his contributions to the GRAMMY-nominated group’s success, stating, “With us, it was really family that kept us going.” Takeoff added, “kind of hard to go find two people that’s family, too, like Unc and Phew.”
Takeoff’s contribution to hip hop has left a mark on music history and will inspire future generation of rap.
