From Victorious to the GRAMMYs: Leon Thomas releases “Love Jones” with Ty Dolla $ign
A true modern renaissance man can be defined as Leon Thomas, an industry-recognized singer-songwriter, actor, and producer. Thomas began his career in the entertainment industry as a child actor on Broadway, and his work has permeated the industry for many years since. Thomas’ early roles as an actor included characters on iCarly and the Backyardigans. Soon after, he landed his role as André Harris on Victorious, for which he is well known.
In pursuit of his passion for music, Thomas has explored the music scene and has established himself as a producer, writer, and performer. He is credited on the works of household names such as Post Malone, Ariana Grande, J. Cole, Giveon, and Kehlani. Thomas became a prominent face in the music industry when he became a GRAMMY award winner for his work on Babyface and Toni Braxton’s album Love, Marriage & Divorce in 2014. In more recent years, Thomas also contributed to Drake’s 2021 album Certified Lover Boy on “Pipe Down,” “Love All” [feat. JAY-Z], and “In the Bible” [feat. Lil Durk and Giveon].
Leon Thomas’ latest release features all of his production, writing, and performance skills in a powerful combination. Titled “Love Jones,” this single features Ty Dolla $Ign and follows Thomas’s previous release, “X-Rated,” under Ty Dolla $ Ign’s new record label, EZMNY. “Love Jones” explores Thomas’ emotions and experiences surrounding his life in California. From party culture to inflation, “Love Jones” encapsulates different aspects of Californian culture and what it means to live in California. Further still, “Love Jones” explores the feelings that arise when falling in and out of love.
